Swipe to Save

The Easiest Way to Save

What is Swipe to Save?

Casco FCU now has a new tool that our members can take advantage of called, Swipe to Save! A club account will be linked to the members' qualifying checking account(s) and automatically round up to the nearest dollar on qualifying transactions. This works similar to when you’re asked to round up for a charitable cause when you make a purchase at a store. Once those transactions clear, the funds will be transferred from the checking account to the club account, where they will start saving! This new tool will be a great way to start saving for a new car, vacation, or even holiday shopping!

How does Swipe to Save work?

Let’s say you pay $3.50 for a coffee with your Casco FCU Debit Card or mobile wallet. Swipe to Save automatically rounds your purchase price up to the nearest dollar, debiting $4.00 from your checking account, instead of $3.50. The extra $.50 is deposited into a club account overnight.

Will the extra money get debited from my checking account at the time I make my purchase?

No, the extra money will not come out of your checking account immediately. It will get debited once the transactions clears, overnight and transferred to your club savings account.

What happens if I don’t have enough money to cover the extra debit amount? Will my account get overdrawn?

No, these debits amounts alone cannot overdraw your account. Our system has been set up to not take the amount out of checking accounts if they do not have the funds to cover them.

What is a qualified purchase?

A qualified purchase is any purchase made with a Casco FCU Debit Card or ACH transaction that posts and clears to the checking account.

Which checking accounts qualify?

All Casco FCU checking accounts qualify, even our Teen Checking for kids ages 13 years and up!
